OPEN 11-5, Wed-Sun
Until February 27, 2011
Although Evanston has experienced storefront art exhibits, the first true “pop-up” gallery in Evanston opened in February. ARTSPACE had a HUGE opening event at 716 Main Street, Evanston (next to Goods of Evanston.) Our “First Look” evening event on Friday February 11 from 6-9pm. We estimate that over 300 people showed up to support local artists.
“Popping-up” for the month of February, ARTSPACE is the creation of Harvey Pranian, well-known art and antique dealer, who has been doing business in Evanston for over 40 years. As curator of ARTSPACE, Harvey is bringing together a group of 12 highly talented area artists who work in various mediums: painting, printmaking, photography, watercolor, ceramics, sculpture and quilting. Harvey will also show art and antiques from his own collection. All work will be for sale.
Artists who will be featured at ARTSPACE include Victor Boyer, Julie Cowan, Charles Heinrich, Nancy Landin, Julie Meridian, Leslie Riley, Gay Riseborough, Mary Seyfarth, Sue Sommers, Mark Thomas, and Amy Woodbury.
